Webvisum 0.8 won't work with Firefox 5. Does anybody know if the software is still being developed so there may be an update soon, or have the developers stopped working on it? Are there other alternatives that solve capture codes?

It is being developed. Ask WX1G for the work around until it gets produced. He'll tell you how to make 0.8 work for now.

I might do that, but for now, I think I'll wait. I don't mind waiting.

How is Firefox 5 in terms of stability and accessibility? I'm still running 3.6 because it is for the most part stable. I tried 4 and it would crash at the drop of a hat, so I went back to 3.6. I would also like to know if some of the issues Firefox has with flash content have been ironed out. A lot of times, and by a lot of times I mean pretty much every time a page is loaded with flash content, when I go to a page, Firefox freezes. I go into task manager and end the process plugInContainer.exe and that gets it going again, but eventually I just disabled all shockwave and quicktime plugins and that seems to have fixed it for the most part. Still, if I don't have to do that in Firefox 5, I may consider upgrading.

Firefox 5 freezes sometimes.

All web browsers freeze some, but on my computer I find 5 more stable and faster than the other versions I have used. I don't use it as my main browser, just because I don't, but it is good. The quick time I disable, due to it not keeping current with Firefox's development, so if sounds on some pages, such as this one aren't important it is a good choice. Now if you are using Webvisum and you rely on it stay as you are until it gets updated, or as I suggested ask WX1G for the fix.

I use IE for websites where I need sounds such as this one, and use Firefox for everything else. I prefer Firefox to IE, but losing out on the sound is a compromise I'm willing to make.

You don't lose on all sites. Some are flash. Not all use Quick time, so.

I have Webvisum working fine with Firefox 5.
If you download and install a Plugin called Add-on Compatibility Reporter it
will reenable any disabled plugins including Webvisum.

Thanks for that workaround Raaj. That's worked for me and I've bookmarked that add-on.

Okay boys I have a fresh copy of 5, but can't get the Web Visum to install, so that this add on works, so whats the secret?

make sure that it isn't working. will you be able to copy the capchas?

No it doesn't even install. I can't locate it on the extechens list in the fox, so I probably shouldn't have removed it until I checked on the fix, so now it won't install back. Mine was set so that when I started the Fox it gave me the message that I was logged in to Web Visum. On my other computer that still works, because I have not upgraded it to 5 yet.

I think you've to install 3 and from there you've to upgrade it to 5. after making sure that the webvisom is working ok with 3.

Smart. Lol Didn't think about that.

Also, when you install the compatibility plugin, you do need to restart Firefox for it to take effect. For some reason I had to restart mine twice before it would work properly.

I've installed with my laptop today and straight away firefox 5 point something and then webvisom after that the compatibility thing. I got success, though.

Okay my issue installing it was due to Jaws 12 and some issue with installing plugs for Firefox 5 I was running 12.0.1167 so an update 1169 was released today that fixed the issue. So now it works fine. I can install the program, than Webvisum. Yes, I do have to restart Firefox once, but it now works just fine.
